Recentemente ho
acquistato una ZORKI 1 matricola 123892 con doppia scritta (cirillico e latino), dotata di obiettivo Jupiter
8 matricola 5202535 che presenta una particolaritа inedita: un selettore (perfettamente funzionante) per l'impostazione
dei tempi lenti. Non vi и fatta
menzione in nessuno dei testi specializzati in materia (Princelle, HPR, ecc.), e tantomeno in rete. Data l'accuratezza della lavorazione che esclude
dubbi sull'autenticitа della camera, si puт verosimilmente pensare ad un prototipo,
mai entrato regolarmente in produzione. Invito
cortesemente quindi chiunque conosca l'esistenza di un modello simile a
mettersi in contatto con me.
Recently
I bought a ZORKI 1 model SN 123892 with double engraving (Cyrillic and
Latin), with lenses Jupiter 8 SN 5202535 with a
unknown peculiarity: the slow-speed selector (working). There is no
mention at all on specialized books (like Princelle,
HPR, etc.) or on the WEB, too. Since accuracy in
construction, there is no doubt about authenticity of camera. Whoever knows
something about this model, please write me. Thank you.
Veniamo all'esame dei particolari
costruttivi. Il modello presenta in pieno le caratteristiche
della Zorki 1c1a (secondo la classificazione
di Albino Pegorari) e cioи: slitta senza scanalature;
pulsante di scatto filettato con collare
a tazza; 2 sole viti fissano posteriormente il coperchio superiore;
rivestimento "grani di riso" con due strisce verniciate
che separano il corpo dai coperchi; camma del telemetro
a pattino; vernice rugosa sulla scatola dell'otturatore; molla ritorno pulsante di scatto senza la
piega presente sui modelli precedenti; numero di matricola sul tettuccio. I modelli con queste caratteristiche
sono stati prodotti nel triennio 1951-1953: le prime due cifre della matricola dell'obbiettivo confermerebbero
una data entro tale periodo (1952).
Let's
examine the camera in details: This model has all the characteristics of Model
ZORKI 1-c1a (according to Albino
Pegorari's classification)
i.e. accessory shoe without grooves; release button threaded and with cup-
shaped collar; only two screws at the back fixing the upper part; cover in the
rice-grain finishing and with two painted stripes separating the body from
upper and lower covers; flat rangefinder cam; rough black paint on the inside
of the bottom part; shutter return spring inside bottom part without the bend
present on earlier models: serial number on the rangefinder cover. Models with
these chararcteristics were made during the 1951-1953
period. The first two figures on the lens confirm that this model was made
during this period (1952).

A
difference in spite of current models, is the
existence of two strap eyelets.
Ma la particolaritа piщ
interessante и la possibilitа
della selezione dei tempi lenti. Posizionando
il bottone delle velocitа di otturazione posto sul tettuccio a 1/15 di secondo (altra particolaritа: la scala dei tempi sul bottone и Z-15-30-40-60-100-200-500...)
si possono impostare,
agendo sul bottone dei tempi
lenti posto (come nelle Leica) sul frontale, lato superiore sinistro, le seguenti velocitа: T (contrassegnata da una lettera in cirillico che
puт venire translitterata come "D" nel
nostro alfabeto); 1 sec.;
1/2 sec.; 1/5 sec. e 1/15
di secondo.
The
most interesting characteristic is slow-speed selection. Selecting button speed
on the top at 1/15 (more: the speed scale
engraved on the button is Z- 15- 30-
40-60-100-200-500...) is possible, using the slow-speed button on front,
top-left, the following speeds: T (there is a cyrillic character meaning "D" in latin); 1 sec.; 1/2 sec.; 1/5 sec. and 1/15
sec.
Il
fondo della scatola dell'otturatore и ovviamente modificato. Vi и una seconda molla e un
nottolino con un dentino (simile, ma non uguale alla Leica).
The shutter box
bottom is obiouvsly modified. There is a second
spring and another device (similar but not Leica-like)
L'accuratezza e
la precisione della lavorazione testimoniano come non sia un pezzo
modificato da qualche intraprendente artigiano o, peggio, falsario: non vi sono sbavature, segni di manomissione
o modifica posteriori alla originale
costruzione dell'apparecchio.
Peraltro, ho notato
personalmente la predisposizione ai tempi lenti in tutti gli apparecchi ZORKI 1 e
FED-ZORKI 1948 e 1949. Addirittura detta predisposizione и
presente anche sugli apparecchi FED 1 dalla matricola
Infatti,
togliendo il tettuccio di dette macchine, si puт notare un foro di forma
ellissoidale della lunghezza di circa
Resta
un mistero il perchи, data questa
predisposizione, i tempi lenti non vennero mai adottati, se non a livello di
prototipo, quale sembra essere il caso di questo modello.

The
accuracy and high skill in the manufacturing of this piece make it clear that
this is not a sample modified by some creative artisan or, even worse, a
forger; there are no signs of tampering or tool marks nor signs of later work
done on the camera. On the other hand I have personally noticed that all ZORKI
1 cameras and also FED-ZORKI of 1948 and 1949 as well as FED cameras from
serial number 140.000, already have built-in arrangements to accept the slow
speed assembly. (this could strike a point in favour of the real existence of a FED V or B) In effect if
one removes the top cover of any of these cameras, one will notice an oval
opening of about
